Welcome to the Agile Programme Management handbook produced by the not-for-profit DSDM Consortium. AgilePgM™ offers an approach that provides the governance and rigour along with the agility and flexibility organisations demand today and can be used either stand-alone or combined with other recognised methods such as MSP® and PMI. It is also ideal as a wrapper for more limited Agile and non-Agile approaches to ensure that the whole programme lifecycle is addressed.

This handbook is intended to support study and continued professional development in the field of Agile Programme Management. It shows how the lifecycle can be applied to ensure the successful delivery of business transformations and initiatives and, as a result, maximise return on investment. As such, it represents essential reading for anyone wishing to become a certified proessional as demanded by so many employers in today’s market.

The handbook concentrates on the essentials of Agile Programme Management. That is, it dispenses with generic practice that can be readily found elsewhere and is not side-tracked by niche specialist usages. In this way, the handbook remains cogent and concise throughout. Information on specialist usages however, along with contextual illustrations and a wide range of support material, is provided on the website. The DSDM Consortium offers membership to organisations and individuals and benefits include access to additional materials and significant discounts on products, training and events.

The AgilePgM handbook represents the very latest in knowledge and learning around the successful delivery of major business transformations and initiatives and I would like to thank the team that made the idea a reality.  I hope you find it both a helpful and rewarding contribution to your personal success.
